An abundance of certain items at the moment
This week we have corn, tomatoes and beets.
The prices for them are as follows:
Corn – $4 / 6 or $6.50 / 12 (we blanch the cob, cut the corn off and freeze it in bags)
Tomatoes – $1.75 / lb. (sorry, not many romas, more slicers and beefsteak)
Beets – $20 / 1/2 bushel
At FairFields we aim to provide fresh, healthy and delicious produce. Our farming practices improve the health of the soil and the neighbouring woods, springs and pond. In future years, we plan to use draft horses for field power and soil fertility. We practice organic production techniques and are starting the process for organic certification this year.
We believe everyone should have a connection with their food and trusting relationship with the farmers who produce it. This is why we sell direct, are open about our production techniques, and share and teach about farming and food issues. We invite members, friends and family can get to know the farm and each other.
Devan Penney~ Fair Fields owner and principal farmer. Devan is aided on the farm by his wife and partner Nicole, his parents, his uncle Jim, and other family members and friends.
