It was a pleasure meeting all of you.

Barb Ackerman

Route 58 store in Mildmay, Ontario proudly served the community for over 2 years. Mostly Canadian Hand Made items, carefully selected and beautifully displayed by owner Barb Ackerman.

Meet Barb Ackerman, owner of Route 58.

Barb, touches everyone heart instantly with her kindness:

A retired police dispatcher she loved her job, the people she worked with, and the many citizens she helped. It was sad to leave, but but she was happy to move on to start a new adventure.
She has always been crafty and dreamed of opening a business someday where she could share her love and passion for the arts. I found a building In Mildmay which had the space to run craft classes for all sorts of projects for all ages.
Another of her passions  is going to markets to see the wondrous items people have created.   She wanted to give them a space to enable them to show off their talents and sell their amazing products all year round. She is  proud to support Canadian Hand Made items, whether it’s a company, or one person at home with knitting needles. She believes putting money into our own economy is key. Her shop was 80% Canadian made products. ” We are proud to show off our Canadian Local Artists collection of Hand Made Gifts & Home decor”.  The shop floor was ever changing with new vendors, and vendors who switch their items seasonally.
There was alwasy a  One of a
Kind , A couple of these, A few of those her customers could enjoy a pleasant shopping experience.

Barb Ackerman will be missed by her community and customers near and far.
